Return/Refund Terms :
Legally, if your device is non-functional within the first 30 days of you receiving it, you are entitled to a money back guarantee that provides a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
However, we offer our customers a 40 day period instead to give you that extra level of security for your purchase and as a sign of good faith on our end, of which the same aspects apply as stated above. After this period has ended, you are then covered by our warranty terms. If 40 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a cash refund. However, if additional warranty was included in your order, you’ll be fully covered for the warranty term to receive free repairs and replacements.
How to return/refund:
To be eligible for a return and/or a full refund (within 40 days), your item must be in the same condition that you received it in (no additional marks, scratches, cracks, or damage). In the case of a warranty exchange, we allow some reasonable leniency regarding the condition, as it would be unrealistic to expect the item to be in the same state after, for example, 1 or 2 years of use. Any significant physical damage, like broken screens, will negatively impact the refund or warranty process.
To complete your return/refund, we require proof of order (e.g., order number, email, buyer details, etc.).
Refunds are issued immediately, however, depending on your bank’s processing time, it can take anywhere from 5-10 business days to reflect on statements. If you haven’t received a refund after the stated timeframe, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at contact@gcentre.co.uk.
Warranty Terms and Options:
What follows are updated warranty terms, if a warranty was purchased before May 12th 2026, the current premium warranty terms do not apply therefore batteries and chargers are not covered unlike in the new updated terms.
To maintain your warranty coverage, the laptop must only be repaired, disassembled or otherwise internally accessed by Gadget Centre. Any third-party or DIY repairs will void the warranty. We encourage our customers to make use of the warranty they’ve invested in by contacting us if any issues arise. Attempting to fix the laptop yourself or using someone who will repair it at “mates rates” can end up more expensive compared to contacting us directly and getting it repaired free of charge under warranty. We can only ensure and guarantee the quality of our repair work, parts, cosmetic work and expertise, not those of others.
Please note that both our warranty and ‘Repair or Replace’ policy does not cover accidental damage, theft, misuse, intentional damage or software issues. However if your laptop stops responding, breaks down, malfunctions, slows down or exhibits any other issues through no fault of your own, you are fully covered by the warranty.
Below is a breakdown of what each warranty option includes for a better understanding.
Basic Warranty:
With our basic warranty, if you receive your product and it is not functioning correctly or fails during your warranty period you can send it back to us and we will conduct a complete inspection and subsequent repair/replace of the component that was causing the issue along with free postage and handling included as well as; free unlimited technical advice regarding your laptops hardware, free parts, free repairs and free replacements (excluding batteries and chargers) to ensure you always have a fully working laptop throughout that period that you have warranty for.
Premium Warranty:
Our premium warranty expands upon our basic warranty. It includes everything that the basic warranty provides but adds additional useful features for even more protection and maximum coverage and support. These features are:
MOT:
An MOT spanning the length of your premium warranty period is included, this is for when you feel your laptop could do with a checkup. Maybe it’s running slow, making strange noises, being unresponsive, lagging, power failure, not detecting accessories etc. Or maybe you just want to stay on-top of things by letting us discover any underlying issues before they become a real problem. An MOT with Gadget Centre allows us to thoroughly test and diagnose these issues and then, with your permission, start the process of servicing, repairing and performing exterior cleans and cosmetic touch-ups along with suggesting upgrades and upkeep advice.
If you did not purchase a premium warranty, MOT’s can still be purchased separately if you like us to take a look at your laptop and provide you with an overview of any problems through our diagnosing process.
Service:
Included in our premium warranty options is a free service for each year of premium warranty purchased, for example; Two year premium includes two services, three year premium includes three services. These are usable by the customer at any time. Servicing is for deep cleaning the inside of your device. We clean the hardware and components such as the motherboard, RAM slots, interior ports, connections and fans, along with re-applying thermal paste and any protective materials inside the machine.
Servicing can be purchased separately if you would like an additional service after your premium warranty has expired or if you did not purchase premium warranty, but still would like an internal clean.
Cosmetic coverage:
This is intended for things such as; worn out, glossy keyboard keys, mouse clicks or power buttons, worn or loose screen bezels, vinyl wrapping replacement/touchups or application, re-spray of any naturally damaged/flaking paint and general exterior damage or dirt.
It should be noted that we do not cover damage to screens in any way, if your laptop requires a screen replacement or repair this will include an additional charge.
Additionally, we do not cover excessive soiling of your device as it is considered misuse or accidental damage of the product. To elaborate, if your laptop is failing to function correctly as a result of excessive food, liquid, bodily elements, animal hair or any other dirt/grime, this will not be covered under any of our warranty options and you may be required to pay a repair charge due to your warranty being voided by these circumstances for the components that the soiling has affected. Your warranty is voided only for these instances, not indefinitely. However, general wear and tear from use is absolutely fine and covered, as long as it’s not so bad as to contribute to the damage of an operation or component on or within your laptop.
Batteries and Chargers:
Laptop Batteries should last up to two years on average but should you need a new one throughout your premium warranty period you get one free battery replacement. Previously we did not offer cover for batteries and chargers because they are classed as consumable items that naturally degrades over time, however, we wanted to include something in way of support for this issue should you ever need it. Nonetheless, chargers are still fully covered and we will replace any with faults with no extra charge.
If your battery has failed while you are covered by a premium warranty, we will send a replacement to you with no extra charge. If this has happened within 40 days of you receiving your laptop it will not consume your one free battery replacement included in the premium warranty. If your laptop is a model that has a built-in internal battery, we will need to replace this at our shop as doing this yourself will void the warranty due to the extensive internal component removal required to access the battery. Batteries are tested for 1 hour on standby before shipping.
If the charger we sent with your laptop ceases to function correctly, then just like the battery, you are entitled to one free replacement under premium warranty, this does not cover accidental damage or misuse.
Repair or Replace policy:
Our ‘Repair or Replace’ policy means that we’d first attempt a repair, if the laptop is deemed as ‘beyond repair’ by our technicians, or the repair is deemed as unfeasible, we would then opt to have it fully replaced for a totally different newly refurbished laptop, completely free of charge under warranty but still matching any specifications or requirements you had with your previous device.
Data loss and Recovery :
Regarding data loss and recovery, we cannot be held liable for any data loss, as it is the user’s responsibility to maintain up-to-date backups of essential data. It’s commonly known in IT that drives and storage mediums can sometimes be unreliable and fail with no prior warning, thus the risk of data loss is always present. However, we will make a good-faith effort to recover data when possible(at no obligation/commitment, and no guarantee). In the worst-case scenario, we will provide a replacement drive with a fresh Windows installation.
Warranty Claims and ‘non-issues’:
We aim to process all warranty claims within a reasonable timeframe, however, turnaround times are subject to current company workloads, and delays may be experienced. However, every single warranty claim will always be processed. Please note we are unable to provide exact timeframes, and are not liable for any losses that may be incurred due to delays in processing warranty claims. To avoid disturbances, we advise all customers to arrange a temporary device they can use while their laptop is undergoing the warranty process.
What is a non-issue?:
A non-issue or a user-imposed condition defines something that is not actually an issue that needs repairing or fixing in any substantial way, for example: “Speakers not working”, but it was just the mute setting enabled. Or, “My computer is very slow”, but it just had excessive amounts of junk software installed, etc. For these cases a £35 postage and diagnostics fee will be incurred. The free postage offered in our warranty coverage is only eligible for genuine claims where real issues are present.
